For indoor golf training and daily swing practice at commercial driving ranges, hitting mats serve as core supporting equipment. Traditional hitting mats mostly adopt foam interlayers and ordinary fabric cushion structures. After enduring frequent impacts from club heads over long periods, they are prone to interlayer collapse, elasticity degradation and delamination, resulting in short service life and poor performance under continuous high-frequency training conditions. As a new type of functional textile fabric, 3D mesh fabric features a unique three-dimensional hollow structure and elastic support properties. It is specially developed and manufactured for the buffer layers of golf hitting mats, suitable for structural fabrication and performance upgrading of various indoor and outdoor golf hitting mats, and has become a mainstream base material for hitting mats in the industry.

The 3D mesh fabric produced by our company is formed by warp-knitted three-dimensional weaving technology. Different from conventional flat fabrics, the material forms a three-dimensional spacer support structure internally, with vertical elastic monofilaments building a dense supporting system. When compressed, the fabric absorbs impact force from strikes through monofilament deformation, and quickly rebounds and resets once external force is removed. It will not harden or collapse under repeated long-term hitting, effectively solving the deformation issue of traditional cushion layers. The fabric boasts a stable overall structure and uniform weaving density, and can continuously withstand impacts of varying strengths from full swings and chip shots, making it suitable for regular golf training.

In the fabrication of hitting mats, 3D mesh fabric is mainly used as the core shock-absorbing buffer layer, sandwiched between the artificial turf top layer and anti-slip base layer to form a multi-layer composite structure. The fabric is equipped with hollow breathable pores and delivers excellent air and water permeability. Moisture generated during training and site water accumulation can quickly permeate and drain away, preventing damp buildup inside the cushion and avoiding mildew, debonding and delamination. It adapts to multiple environments including enclosed indoor training spaces and open-air driving ranges. The hollow structure also reduces the overall weight of hitting mats for easier handling and storage of finished equipment.

The elastic buffer structure of the fabric disperses impact force generated by club head strikes, reducing vibration transmission to the trainer’s wrists and arm joints, alleviating physical fatigue and strain caused by long-time training and optimizing the training experience. Meanwhile, the fabric buffer layer weakens the impact of striking vibration on the ground, protecting indoor floors and outdoor ground surfaces. It is applicable to diverse scenarios such as home indoor training, commercial golf experience halls and outdoor driving ranges. The fabric has a soft and flexible texture and will not abrade club faces, supporting long-term hitting operations with various golf clubs.

3D mesh fabric offers outstanding hitting resistance and anti-aging performance. Its raw materials are treated with special processes to achieve wear and oxidation resistance. Its structure and elasticity will not degrade rapidly even with long-term exposure to air and light. Compared with cushion layers made of traditional foam materials, hitting mat buffer layers made of this fabric have a longer service life, reducing equipment replacement frequency and site operation costs. The fabric has sufficient overall toughness; its cut edges are not easy to fray, facilitating factory cutting, laminating and mass production.

Custom specifications are available. Fabric thickness, weight per square meter and elastic parameters can be adjusted according to hitting mat design requirements to produce products of different sizes including small household practice mats and large-area commercial training mats. The fabric features strong material compatibility and can be laminated with artificial turf, rubber base plates, anti-slip cloth and other materials to support manufacturing solutions for golf hitting mats of various structures and styles. The standardized roll production mode enables bulk purchasing, storage and processing by equipment manufacturers to meet stable capacity supply demands.

With numerous properties including three-dimensional shock absorption, breathability and moisture resistance, high hitting resistance, durability and easy processing, 3D mesh fabric breaks the application limitations of traditional hitting mat cushion materials and addresses pain points of conventional equipment such as insufficient elasticity, easy damage and water accumulation. Currently, this fabric is widely used in the production and processing of various golf training hitting mats. It provides stable fabric support for upgrading indoor golf equipment and supplying accessories for driving ranges, and facilitates material iteration in the golf training equipment industry.
